Historical Visits

First Visit

Visit Location: Malta’s Capital City of Valetta
Specific Location: Museum of Archaeology

Visiting the capital city of Valetta is a historical marvel itself. Since individuals like me who live on the island of Malta visit Valetta every so often, we, unlike tourists take valettas structure and design for granted.
I decided what better place to go for historical art and structure than the Museum of Archeology. Luckily enough there was an exhibition regarding the entire history of Malta set in 100 single objects.
During my walk throughout the exhibition I noticed a use of many methods and pieces found elsewhere in the world.
The famous Female Statuette(mainly known as Venus) or as we call it “The fat lady” statue, Egyptian relics brought from overseas, Mosaic diagrams similar to styles in the Greek and roman empires.

I have taken a wide Variety of images of pieces I found particularly fascinating throughout the entire exhibition.

Second Visit

Visit Location: Mosta
Specific Location: Mosta Dome

Considering I live in Mosta I had every intention of visiting my hometowns icon, the Mosta Church. The church itself is the Third largest unsupported dome in the world, and its structure is a work of art in its own. Tourists are overwhelmed at the size of the building.
Entering the church is just as overwhelming. You feel as if the size of the church increased. I however entered from the side entrances which lead to the back of the church. Inside I am greated with a lot of Paintings of Jesus Christ, and other religious figures. Most keep a chiaro scuro effect.

Entering the main area of the dome where the ceremonies take place I have seen many stunning paintings especially on the walls high above the ground level. Statues are placed around the building depicting angels and religious figures. The style reminds me of roman sculptures.
